17/35 | A-0 - Steve Niederriter cutting end off old arch bar to be template to bend a new one Return to MSR&LHA Home page |
Steve sawing the ends from the straightest of the old longitudinal top bars, so that it can be used to hold the top of our two side frames during the upwards bending of the bottom arch bars. The full length new top bars cannot be bolted in place because their length would interfere with the material to be bent. The old bas are not to be used on the trucks after the rebuilt because they have been broken through too many bolt holes, and patched with field welds of very questionable quality.
